I see you all wearing awesome pocket/purse/too/cargo belts and I want one! Where the hell do you find them, and for a reasonable price?

Fri, October 16, 2009 - 4:08 PMI got mine at HappyCow.com.au ... they make a variety of tool/utility/purse belts out of recycled leather scraps from furniture factories. -

I had mine custom made from her website, and I freakin' love it. I don't use it as often as I'd like, because it wouldn't fit over a costume, or hold a water container, but when I did wear it I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved it. -

You can select any fabric you like. Her webpage has a custom form, where you select shape and sizes of pockets, attachments, etc.
If by "utilitarian" you mean useful, and not just decorative, my belt was very useful. Stashed pee funnel, water, snacks, gifts, sunscreen, lip stuff, etc. for away-from-camp jaunts. -

I can't seem to find one like mine. It's a simple flat black leather belt with silver buckle and a simple, lean pouch built into it. It's wicked cool and most like it for its simple class. It looks like a celtic hip belt. I'm pretty sure I got it at a kilt store in Virginia....

Re: pocket belts
Wed, November 11, 2009 - 10:02 PMp.s. If you buy small flat carabiners and hang a really cool pouch from a grommet belt it works well. I do that at Santa Con when I need to carry a phone, my smokes, ID, money, and my guy's stuff. :-)

Re: pocket belts
Mon, November 16, 2009 - 11:42 AMI'm looking at the design and I would think that the water bottle carrier is too high to hold a bottle comfortably against the body. I would have put it on the longer piece. Other than that, these are beautiful, and I'm totally going to rip off the idea and do my own version. :)

Re: pocket belts
Wed, November 18, 2009 - 10:06 PMI bought an awesome belt / Purse from a company called "Fire Dog Designs". I bought it at the High Sierra Music Festival where they had a little cart full of great belts (it was hard to choose just one). Every time I wear it I get tons of compliments. The people who made it are Burners, and designed the belts for Fire Spinning. Here is one of their designs.

I wear that belt a lot and it still looks as great as the day I bought it-very durable! -
