This is a bit OT, but if any of you are starting your playa clothing search and happen upon any of these items, there's an incredibly sad bellydancer who would LOVE to get them back! Zoe Jakes is an internationally known and beloved bellydancer from Oakland, and she also performs as part of Black and Blue Burlesque and in the Extra Action Marching Band. She handmakes most of her costuming, and since she is a professional touring dancer (with her two cohorts in Beats Antique and as part of the Bellydance Superstars) she really NEEDS this stuff! Please keep in mind that while she is very successful, she doesn't necessarily have the funds to replace all of her costuming--especially because so much of it was made with one-of-a-kind items, etc.

Here Zoe's message with a list of items, and I've posted a picture of the missing costumes in the gallery. Thank you for your help!

Our car was broken into on thursday, and David and I and are trying to recover our valuable and irreplaceable performance gear. We just want it back, we are offering a reward, and no questions asked. The items are:

*a turkish banjo with a thin neck and a round wooden head, with a pick-up
*3 dance costumes heavily decorated with coins and beads, one black and white, one gold-ish, and one black with fabric floral elemens and *old keys on it. All are covered in antique jewelry
*About 12 large and heavy silver indian bracelets, antique as well
*Two metallic scarves-covered in silver thread with designs
*A metal box with fancy trims and rhinestone flowers in it

We need these things to perform, and without them we are having hard times indeed! Please if you can help us, we will be so grateful!!!!
