I got my first one yesterday. It feels awfully stubbly. I figured there'd probably be a few hairs too short, but it really doesn't feel all that smooth or great...I know the red bumps will go away, but I'm disappointed. Meh. I kinda figured maybe she'd tweeze the strays, too. Glad I didn't go all the way!

Tue, August 25, 2009 - 10:06 AMWitch hazel + ground-up aspirin is great for the red bumps. That expensive stuff they try and push on you to get rid of bumps is mostly just witch hazel and aspirin.
Weird that she didn't tweeze strays! -

Tue, August 25, 2009 - 10:12 AMI agree with Neon, you got a bad wax, in all the years I've been going I havent ever had them leave me stubbly, too late for now, but next time (if ya choose to) find a different place and be sure to mention your displeasure with the past place. that way they know to be more diligent.

Yes, it hurts a lil bit - but mostly on the top center part of mons pubis. the other precious bits were minimal ouches.
lucia in berkeley ROCKS. all the reviews on yelp and wise words from my friend piph were spot on. she is kind, funny, and knows exactly what she is doing.
i do have a few little bumps that will hopefully go away with vanish pfb, which i'm using twice a day til playa departure on sunday.
I love how smooth and tidy everything looks - totally sold!!!
