Theme Camp Placement?

Hey Ladies!

Has anyone seen the Theme Camp Placement list?

It was supposed to come out this weekend after the rejections went out Friday night. Someone posted a thread on the main BM Tribe, but it morphed fast into people complaining about rejections. I do feel bad for those who put lots of time & energy into applying for a theme camp assignment - but ... c'est la vie ...

Re: Portopotties...the city is going back to the '07 size. In '07 the portos were between D and E and btwn. I and J on most blocks. I don't know if that will be the same this year.

A LOT. Opulent Temple is pretty much the loudest thing out there...or in the top 3 anyway. Their speakers point out towards the open playa, but MAN is it still loud.

Thought I'd post in here about the efforts that people are going to for the Theme Camps who did not receive placement.

In order for their events to be published somehow for people to be able to find their camps, the Black Rock Beacon crew are working to make a list of events by non-placed theme camps, then on Monday once their location is known, we will print a listing of all those events with that location. The printing will happen during the night after we print the Beacon and will be distributed throughout the city in various locations.

Here is a tribe that those camps can go to and enter to register their camp and their event information: tribes.tribe.net/toohotforburningman

If anyone here belongs to a non-placed theme camp and wants to participate in the event listing (called the Alt-WWW), please help us out by going to that Tribe to list your camp and enter your event information. And watch for your copy of the Alt-WWW and the Black Rock Beacon on the playa.
  • So my camp has hit a pretty hard wall... we've been placed for 6 years, and this year we were not. We're trying to count our blessings, 6 years of luckiness. But this year we're doing the land grab on Sunday night along with many others. No biggie, except that some of us have already bought plane tickets, booked car rentals, and taken vacations in anticipation of being a placed camp. I know, no expectations and all, but after 6 years, it's not unreasonable to think you'd be placed again, and a girls gotta plan. So I planned, and now my plans have been a little clusterfucked. I'll be there, and in high spirits once on playa, but truth be told? My pre-playa zest took a massive dump this week.

    I'll recover. Until then, pppppfffffffttttttttt.
    • I hear ya Dusty! If I hadn't got placed I'd be really disappointed. However, we've done the theme camp thing every OTHER year, and the land grab every OTHER, and, to tell ya the truth, we've gotten better spots when we've done the landgrab (except for one year when we were placed on a corner on 9, right across from the portopotties and we were in BRC heaven that year).
