hello burning ladies!
i just got a fabulous new long white fleece cloak at the fire arts festival. this jacket is absolutely beautiful with drapy sleeves that tie, a sturdy zipper in the front that allows for air flow, and a scooped hood to sink into when the sun comes up.
i'm contemplating bringing it out to the burn this year, because it will undoubtably keep me warm and cozy on those chlly nights. but i am wondering if/how well playa comes out of the fleece fabric. now, i know you can never *really* get playa out of everything...but some fabrics seem easier to clean than others.
first hand experiences with fleece on the playa are welcome
cheers!

Re: fleece on the playa
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:48 PMwe talking the same fleece as sweatshirts? Other than risk of staining white, it will come clean.
When you get home, and this applies to almost anything you brought out there, shake it out, outdoors, very thoroughly.
If possible, hang outside for a day or two.
Then wash. Don't overload the machine. Use an extra rinse cycle if you can.
Everything I've taken to the playa....including leather and fun fur. . . has come back to life pretty well. -

Tue, July 21, 2009 - 9:00 PMyup, it's regular ole' fleece like the innards of a sweatshirt. but it's a beautiful shape with the hood and sleeves.
an extra rinse cycle is a good idea, but i'm thinking hand wash just to be safe.
thanks! -

Re: fleece on the playa
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 10:32 AMFleece is great on the playa. Warm and soft and the dust doesn't seem to collect on it quite as much. Just wash with a little vinegar in the water and it should be fine.
Someone else mentioned white getting stained out there and I have noticed that on a few items, so be warned.
