Hi girlies
I've been bouncing round from one waxer to another - I thought I'd found the perfect vietnamese woman who did a fast and ...okay.... brazilian wax. but the last couple of times were a bit cock eyed.
Can anyone recommend a great waxer in either the san francisco or north bay area who continually does a fabulous and super neat brazilian wax? I'm currently living in Petaluma, but go to the city often.
thanks for any help - from me...... and my man :-)

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Fri, October 22, 2004 - 4:29 PMI do it myself. I buy those "Nair" microwavable waxing and it is excellent!
I save a lot of money doing it at home also.
Just one more thing: the waxing paper sheets from Nair are not too good. Your best bet is to get a package from one of those hair salon supplies stores. -

Sun, October 24, 2004 - 3:07 PMEeep! I do my own waxing for the most part, but once you get to that whole lip-type area, it's time to let a professional step in.

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Fri, October 22, 2004 - 5:12 PMthere's a place in the castro called Prima Facie. the woman i went to is named Jen. # is 415-626-7700/561 Castro St.
she uses a blue wax on the most sensitive bits that doesn't require a strip to remove...the wax itself becomes the strip and it was considerably less painful than normal. she wasn't the fastest i've ever experienced but thorough! my god.
i know whatcha mean, regyna...there's a woman out here who takes 45 minutes to do a full brazillian, full leg, brow, and underarms. and i'm definitely NOT blond so i've got hair.

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Mon, October 25, 2004 - 11:32 AMso, let me get this straight - it seems the best waxers in town are called Jen -there's a Jen at at Isa's and one at Prima Facie? or are they the same person? and the Jen at Isa's is $60 for just a brazilian - jeepers!....but the wax she uses I've had used on me once before and it really is good....i suppose you pay for what you get. How much does the Jen at Prima facie charge?
talking of listing the great waxers we know, I don't want to give my girl a bad wrap if anyone wants a regular bikini or leg wax. she is super super fast and cheap. Mary Pham at Merry manicures, Polk st btw Broadway and Pacific. -

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Mon, October 25, 2004 - 12:01 PMi was wondering that too, if jen is only one person.
i don't know what jen/prima facie charged, i had a lot of waxing done that day plus a few other things and it was all lumped together.
jen at isa's could be the woman i went to at PF...my last visit was right before the '03 burn so my info is dated. she very well could have left for another salon by now.

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Tue, October 26, 2004 - 10:48 AMNot the best, but not the worst and certainly a great deal
Nails 10 on Church at 24th. Only $20.
I've had more spa type of service before, but I also paid way more. The Vietnamese women are quick and you can do a walk in anytime. The also do cheap ped and manis and have massage chairs if you want to splurge a little more.

Bikini wax recommendation L.A. area
Sun, July 5, 2009 - 5:56 PMI have a close long time friend that has been in the business for 30 years in the LA area.
Call Carol L. @ Studio H, 22247 Mulholland Hwy, Calabasas, CA 91302

She is a positive and lovely soul.

Re: Bikini wax recommendation L.A. area
Mon, July 6, 2009 - 7:38 AMI was thinking of doing this (for the first time in my life) for the playa...seemed it might just be a little cleaner.
I did find a little tube of Sally Hansen "Brazillian formula" bikini hair removal creme, THAT ACTUALLY WORKED! I was pretty surprised, having grown up poor results from the foul-smelling stuff.
But, closer towards the departure date, I am planning on splurging on some leg and bikini waxing. Armpits can stay furry. -

Re: Bikini wax recommendation - SF or north bay
Fri, July 24, 2009 - 8:51 PMStrawberry. I can't recommend her enough. There's another thread on this topic somewhere here where I rave about her. I won't repeat it, but she is phenomenal. Every time I'm back in the country I see her!
