Hey burning women...
I need help! what advice can anyone give on how to get from Reno to BRC without having to rent a car? I'm travelling solo to the playa this year (my 2nd) meeting up with a camp when I get to BRC...
I'm flying into Reno from CT and then...not quite sure what comes next.
is there a...shuttle? <grin> or is that a hopeless fantasy?
rideshare?
help?
I am really appreciating any advice at this point.
I need to go home (if only it was as easy as clicking the heels of my ruby slippers...<sigh>)

there will be plenty of ride shares and probably even a seperate rideshare tribe. Dont worry a bit. Reno to BRC is the easiest place in the world to get a ride from. Even at the very last possible second, you will have no problem getting a ride. I promise.

Somewhere I read about a biodiesel bus that will take people from reno airport to BRC with a stop to pick up supplies.

Here is the link to the Bio-Bus shuttle that will take you from the airport stop at Whole Foods and then on to BRC. There is fee.

        werd, Reno-->BRC is suuuuper easy.
Even if you didn't bother to make official ride plans, you could probably catch a ride out there no problem if you just camped out by In-N-Out for a few hours. :P

Here's another option that was also posted on my ride share tribe:

Something that may be of help to some of you on a budget out there, looking to fly into Reno, but not sure yet how you're gonna get to the playa from the airport, there will be 3 rideshare bases in the Reno area again this year during the week of Burning Man.

          What's a "rideshare base?"

A rideshare base is a place for those seeking a ride to go to where they are very likely to pick up a ride in short order, because that place is a very frequent stop for burners shopping through on their way to the playa.

The three rideshare bases this year will be:

          Trader Joe's

          maps.google.com/maps

          Whole Foods Market

          maps.google.com/maps

          Save Mart on Keystone

          maps.google.com/maps

Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are the closest mega-burner shopping stops to the airport. They however are not open 24 hours -- 9-9 and 8-9, respectively. Save Mart on Keystone is the single most burner-populated stop during Burning Man, particularly because it is right next to I-80, and because it is open 24 hours.

Note that in addition to being a rideshare base, these stores continue to provide additional goods and services to help support the burner migrations well beyond most other places in the region -- hence, why they're so popular. More on this later....

IN ADDITION, c/o of the very gracious owners of a nightclub here in Reno known as The Amendment 21, there will be a FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE from the airport to these rideshare bases during certain hours and on certain days during Burning Man -- it's a pilot experiment, and the shuttle has prior engagements, hence why it is not for all hours and days.

The shuttle will be operating during these peak days and peak hours, with shuttle trips going to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's until 8:30 pm, and to Save Mart after than:

          Mon, August 31 - Wed, Sept. 2

          10 am - 3:30 pm
          7 pm - 9:30 pm

To get a ride on this shuttle, please visit the "Air Playa Info" table at the Reno airport, a table c/o Burning Man staffed by volunteers and loaded with resources for you travels to the playa. Wait here for the next shuttle arrival -- you'll be informed when the next shuttle has arrived....
